I study the stock market for fun so NP manages all my notes, charts, etc, as well as my journal. I've learned that it's rare for 1 tool to do everything - you need to mix and match based on how you work best. I don't think NP does day/time-based reminders the way you're hoping it will. I found these got lost/confusing in Things' Anytime/Someday areas. I have a section for life Admin stuff, Music to-do's (learning songs, etc), Fitness to-do's, etc. And yes you're right, I wanted some additional context to my long-term to-do's (notes, pictures, headings), so that's why I put it in NotePlan. I never really jived with the "Anytime" and "Someday" sections of Things. I tried moving over to Apple Reminders but the UI/features were so limited and frustrating that I moved back to Things.
